The Gift of Women
Released March 6, 2023, The Gift of Women by Teresa Janzen and Theresa Willen, was presented at the 2023 United Nations Commission on the Status of Women in New York city in March. One hundred copies of the book were delivered for the event which took place from March 13 – 17.
Dr. Sabrina D. Black, who wrote the foreword to the book, recently traveled to New York to read excerpts at the UN Headquarters.
The Gift of Women documents the impact women have had and continue to have on the world, especially in the area of education. Beginning with those brave women from history who began forging the path for women’s education and following through with the contemporary voices that are shaping the world today, this work reveals the gift women are to society. Women still face adversity in achieving equal opportunities with men, especially in the Global South. Looking at ways to empower women from sociological, political, economic and psychological viewpoints, the authors consider the future of education in the digital age. They provide solutions to the ongoing issues surrounding women’s empowerment through education.
